"The world is a better place when Cole Chaney is releasing music."

The Catlettsburg, KY native burst onto the scene in 2021 with the release of his debut record Mercy, a wildly impressive project steeped in his experiences of life and growing up in Eastern Kentucky. He followed that up in 2022 with his OurVinyl Sessions EP, which featured four more awesome originals, but that was all he would go on to release for over four years following the astounding response to Mercy.

Though Chaney continued to tour relatively heavily and remain active on social media, the fervor with which his rapidly growing fanbase yearned for new music would go unsatisfied until he finally announced plans for his sophomore album earlier this year. And now that he has released a few new singles, I think it’s safe to say it was worth the wait.

Chaney picked up right where he left off, releasing another heater with the country grunge lead single “Alone?” earlier this summer, and followed that up with another spectacular single in “The Unsatisfied” in July. Now he’s back with a third single, and it’s another one that demands your attention.

Title “Let the Love Die,” Chaney’s latest release is a classic love done me wrong song, and as tends to be the case with his music, his gritty vocal delivery adds an element of emotion to the tune that few other artists are able to tap in to. As the narrator reflects on his lonesome circumstance, he finds himself jaded by his romantic experiences, and comes to terms with the end of a relationship that just wasn’t meant to be.

Listen to “Let the Love Die” for yourself here:

“I thought it could be different, girl I thought we could change

But nature is a taxman and your debt is due

Done this all before and it always ends the same

You’re walking out again, girl, and I’m letting you”

This man just doesn’t miss.

“Let the Love Die” marks the third single off of Chaney’s forthcoming sophomore record In The Shadow of the Mountain, which is slated for release in its entirety on September 19. And if the singles released thus far are any indication, this is shaping up to be another special album from Cole Chaney.

Go ahead and give the other aforementioned singles a listen as well while we’re at it.

Cole Chaney and his band are hitting the road hard this fall in support of The Shadow of the Mountain, so there are plenty of opportunities to get out their and here these songs live this year.
